Adhesives and Coatings for Medical and Medical Device Applications are one of our key market segments. We are ISO 9001 compliant and GMP compliant. We have also been placed under our clients ISO 13485 certifications.
In the field of Medical Products, we have developed cyanoacrylate adhesives, colostomy adhesives, sterilization resistant sealants capable of enduring high temperatures and harsh oxidative conditions, anti-microbial coatings, hydrophobic and hydrophilic coatings, coatings with lubricious properties, adhesives and coatings with electrical and thermal conductivity, coatings and adhesives with high MVTR properties, and more. These components have been used for the production of skin adhesives and wound care products, endoscopes, catheters, improved MRI units, hypodermic needles, bandages, sterilizable packaging, and the list goes on
At National Polymer, our technology platforms are based on polymeric systems. Our depth of knowledge regarding these materials is based on a deep understanding of the structure-property relationships that govern the many classes of polymers we utilize. We apply this knowledge to the design of polymeric systems, including adhesives and coatings. We design these materials using a variety of materials including cyanoacrylates, flouro-silicones, silicones, fluorinated systems, ceramers, epoxy, urethane, acrylic, phenolic, high performance thermosets, and novel hybrid systems.
They are produced as 100% solids, water-based, and solvent-based systems. They cure through all means including thermal anionic, free radical, light energy, thermal enery, and moisture catalysis. We formulate these building blocks into a variety of products including adhesives, coatings, sealants, and more. We tailor them to your particular application needs.

Polymers are used extensively in the Medical Device sector. They are preferred to metals because isotonic saline solution that comprise the body’s extracellular fluid is corrosive to metals. Both thermoplastics, thermosets, and elastomers are used in Medical Devices. Polymers typically used include polyethylene, polypropylene, polymethyl methacrylate, polyvinyl chloride, polyamide, ABS, and polycarbonate. Pressure Sensitive and Heat Activated Adhesives are extensively used in the medical field. In all cases, high purity materials are required.
